Vacancy: Musical Director
Mosaic Chamber Choir, Woking, Surrey
Start date: September 2020
Mosaic Chamber Choir, one of Surrey’s leading chamber choirs, is seeking to appoint a new Musical Director to succeed Benjamin Gaughran FRSM who will be stepping down after seven highly successful years.
About the choir
Mosaic is a high calibre, auditioned, mixed voice chamber choir made up of approximately 20 singers. Our members include a number of music graduates and teachers, ex-cathedral choristers and highly experienced choral singers. All singers are expected to prepare independently for rehearsals.
The choir’s musical repertoire is broad, ranging from Gibbons to Gjeilo, including both sacred and secular repertoire, sung accompanied and a capella. The choir is fortunate to have an accomplished accompanist who also acts as the Assistant Musical Director. Mosaic holds three or four concerts every season and usually programmes at least one concert featuring a chamber orchestra and soloists. The choir is also invited to perform in London each year by the Brandenburg Choral Festival.
Mosaic rehearses on Monday evenings during term time, between 7:30pm and 9:15pm, at the Salvation Army headquarters in Woking, Surrey.
Applicants are encouraged to browse Mosaic’s website and social media channels to see and hear more.
